COUNTERACT the effects of the FAT in your diet with FIBER and ANTIOXIDANTS!

Hi. My name is DeShond C Barnes. I am a medical journalist and lecturer. The job of a medical journalist (for those of you who do not already know) is to bring to YOU the latest breakthrough discoveries in nutritional scientific research. When scientists at various universities and research centers conduct studies and make findings, those findings are published in medical journals. That is where the journalist comes in. The job of a journalist is to examine those published research findings and conduct exclusive interviews with scientists, compile those research findings and bring them to YOU. The way in which journalists bring you the latest in nutritional research discoveries is by writing books. Examples of medical journalists include Jean Carper, Corinne T Netzer and Robert E Kowalski. Jean Carper is a New York Times best-selling author who has written several books about health and nutrition. Jean Carper’s books have received RAVE REVIEWS from Andrew T Weil, M.D. Corinne T Netzer is the author of about a dozen health and nutrition books. Robert E Kowalski is also the author of several health and nutrition books.

As a journalist, I have compiled the latest research findings on how the fiber and antioxidants in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans can COUNTERACT the effects of the FAT in your diet. I have brought those research findings to you in a JUST-RELEASED book titled "Counteract the Fat." By reading "Counteract the Fat," you will learn how certain forms of fiber (in certain health foods) can lower your cholesterol (or maintain a healthy cholesterol and body weight) without requiring you to SEVERELY limit the fat in your diet. You will also learn how certain antioxidants can lower your risk of heart disease and stroke by promoting healthy blood-levels of an amino acid known by scientists as “homocysteine” without requiring you to SEVERELY limit your intake of animal protein. You will learn how certain forms of fiber and a special class of “phytochemicals” can lower your risk of breast cancer, prostate cancer and other hormone-related cancers by promoting healthy blood-levels of the hormones estrogen and testosterone without requiring you to SEVERELY limit the fat in your diet and MUCH, MUCH MORE. This is not a “sit back and stuff yourself with unlimited amounts of junk foods each day” type of deal (no such diet exists). You will most certainly still be required to limit the fat in your diet, just not quite as SEVERELY as usual.

"Counteract the Fat" is based on clinical trials conducted by James W Anderson, M.D., and his associates at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, David J Baer, Ph.D. and dozens of other scientists at universities and research centers across America. This information is published in medical journals. The manuscript for "Counteract the Fat" received a RAVE REVIEW in March 2007 from Elizabeth Lipski, Ph.D., CCN, Director of Doctoral Studies at Hawthorn Health and Nutrition Institute, and Author of "Digestive Wellness" and "Digestive Wellness for Children." According to Dr. Lipski, "Counteract the Fat" is “well-written and is very good factually.” Dr. Lipski stated that I “did really good research and picked up some good ideas,” and that "Counteract the Fat" is “a bridge for people who want to reduce their risk of disease without having to turn their lives upside down.”

"Counteract the Fat" is currently available for purchase as a downloadable E-book (readable in pdf adobe reader format). This E-book is currently being self-published. My goal is to capture the attention of a major book publisher that might want to take over the publishing of my E-book. This is by no means unusual. For example, Dr. Robert Atkins had to initially self-publish his Number One New York Times Best-seller "Dr. Atkins’ Diet Revolution." After his book sold more than 100,000 copies through self-publishing, he was offered a publishing contract by one of America’s largest book publishers. He accepted the offer. His book then went on to sell more than 15 million copies worldwide! Another example is the New York Times Best-seller "SugarBusters!" This book was written by four different doctors. They had to initially self-publish the book. After "SugarBusters!" sold more than 400,000 copies through self-publishing, the authors of the book were offered a publishing contract by one of America’s largest book publishers. They accepted the offer. The book then went on to sell millions of copies worldwide. There are so many other authors who were fortunate enough to have the publishing of their first book taken over by some of America’s largest book publishers. I am trying to follow in those authors’ footsteps. In my case, my E-book would have to be converted into a PRINTED and BOUND book (something that any book publisher can do).

Unfortunately, most authors have to self-publish their FIRST book. Book publishers tend to reject more than 95% of all of the manuscripts that are submitted to them by authors. Some publishers even state that - for every 3,000 to 4,000 manuscripts that are submitted to them - only 3 or 4 of them will actually be accepted for publication! The ones that they do accept are those that are written by WELL-KNOWN BEST-SELLING authors. If you are ALREADY a New York Times Best-selling author, and you write a manuscript for a SECOND book, publishers would break their necks to accept your SECOND book because your FIRST book sold well enough to make the best-sellers list. Book publishers have a budget. If a publisher’s budget allows a maximum yearly investment of, let’s say, $50,000, and the publisher must invest an average of $10,000 for EACH INDIVIDUAL MANUSCRIPT that is accepted, that publisher will only be able to accept about 4 or 5 manuscripts per year. That leaves THOUSANDS of REJECTED manuscripts! Among those rejected manuscripts are WELL-WRITTEN manuscripts (including those manuscripts that are endorsed by well-known experts). Some publishers will let you know up front that manuscripts that are submitted to them have a very slim chance of actually being accepted for publication. Because of the tremendous amount of both time and money that is involved in producing and publishing books (editing, typesetting, formatting, cover design, printing, binding and promotion), publishers are forced to limit their publishing to those authors who have ALREADY established a TRACK RECORD (so to speak).
